MINUTES: Accepted from April 17th and May 1st.


New Business:

VFW requesting a one day license for party on June 15, 2019
4 to 8 p.m. outdoor event weather permitting.

Greylock Works requesting a one day for 508 State Road for annual event on June 8th from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Aramark/MCLA requesting a one day for two events for Alumni
June 7th 6 to 8 p.m. and June 8th from 2 to 4 p.m..

Bright Ideas Brewery requesting a series of one day licenses to serve beer at the Steeplecats games at Joe Wolfe Field for the Steeplecats 2019 gaming season.

THE NORTH ADAMS LICENSE COMMISSION

MINUTES

May 14, 2019


MEMBERS PRESENT: Jeffrey Polucci, Rosemari Dickinson, & Peter Breen

OTHERS PRESENT: Colleen Rafferty, Nate Samson, Arlene MCLA

CALL TO ORDER:

Motion was made to approve minutes from April 17th and May 1st by Peter Breen. Motion carried.

Chairman Polucci opened meeting with one day request from Greylock Works represented by Nate Samson. The event will be the same as the one held at the Mill last year. It has different vendors and they will sell alcohol from 10:30 to 6 p.m. Ms Dickinson expressed her concern with taking the alcohol outside in the back of the building as she felt it would be difficult to monitor. All members agreed so a motion to approve was made by Ms Dickinson excluding outside the mill. All in favor. Motion carried.

Aramark/MCLA had two one day requests for Alumni events on June 7th from 6 to 8 p.m. and June 8th from 2 to 4 p.m. Chairman Polucci stated each event will be voted on individually. Arlene who was representing the college told the board that they would have TIPS certified bartenders and wrist bands. Chairman Polucci expressed that “alcohol service is a priviledge not a right so if the bartenders think someone had enough stop service at any time. The event is in the Sullivan Lounge and must be 21 to attend. College security is on site for the event.
A motion to approve the June 7th event from 6 to 8 p.m. was made by Ms Dickinson, seconded by Mr. Breen all in favor. Motion carried.
This event is a carnival for alumni and families on Murdock Law. The alcohol area will be roped off .
A motion to approve the June 8th event from 2 to 4 p.m. was made by Ms Dickinson, seconded by Mr. Breen all in favor. Motion carried.

Colleen Rafferty from Bright Ideas Brewery applied for the Annual Father’s Day event to be held on June 16th where patrons can enjoy the outdoor space in the parking area of Mass Moca. The event is from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the courtyard. This is the 4th year that Bright Ideas has done this event. A motion to approve was made by Ms Dickinson, seconded by Mr. Breen. All in favor.

Colleen from Bright Ideas also applied for a series of one day licenses to serve beer at the Steeplecats Games at Joe Wolfe Field from June 5, 2019 to July 30th. The hours will be from 6 to 9:30 for all games except one day game July 20th the hours will be 12 to 4:30. Rain dates will be announced if needed.
A motion to grant the license for the evening games from 6 to 9:30 p.m with the exception of July 20th was made by Ms Dickinson, seconded by Mr. Breen. All in favor. The one game for July 20, 2019 which is a day game the hours accepted are 12 to 4:30 p.m.

A one day application was presented for VFW to use outside space on the left side of the building for a party on June 15th from 4 to 8 p.m. for a private party. The area will be tented off and no bar service but the ability to bring beer or wine in plastic cup outdoors to the event. This license will only be used if weather permits. A motion to approve was made by Ms Dickinson seconded by Mr. Breen. All in favor. Motion carried.
